

The lavender is a plant of the genus Lamiaceae which today mainly serves as an ornamental plant and for the production of flavorings. There are 3 types of lavender from which each lavender oil of different quality is obtained: Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia), Speik-Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) and Lavandin (Lavandula hybrida).
With us you get exclusively oil, which is obtained from Lavandula angustifolia = real lavender (grown in the South of France) by steam distillation from the fresh flowers.
It can be obtained from about 125kg flowers only 1 liter of oil.
Lavender oil is used internally as a mild tranquilizer for restlessness, difficulty falling asleep and functional upper abdominal discomfort.
Possible side effects:
Lavender oil can cause skin rashes and allergic reactions in over-sensitive individuals. If lavender oil is taken orally over a longer period of time, it can lead to damage to the liver and various symptoms of intoxication. Signs of overdose include burning in the mouth, dizziness, vomiting, pain, cramping, coma and respiratory paralysis. In this case you should urgently consult a doctor.
